Kynetec’s Warrick Steptoe shares analysis of farmer-sourced biostimulant market data to Biostimulant World Congress
Held in Miami, USA, 13-15 November 2024, the largest international biostimulants event offered keynote speeches, expert panels, scientific presentations, and networking to attendees.
Keynote speaker, Kynetec’s Warrick Steptoe, presented “Insights on biostimulant adoption, market sizing and trends in key crops and geographies”. With 20 years’ experience, Warrick’s expertise allows him to deliver market intelligence that drives positive business decision-making.
Warrick’s keynote defines the current limits of the insights into the biostimulant market, and a positive outlook for its growth.
Biostimulants are notoriously difficult to define country to country. Not only that, but regulatory challenges vary from market to market.
Kynetec define biostimulants as -
“Substances applied to a crop with the objective to enhance nutrition uptake and efficiency, crop quality and vitality, as well as tolerance to stress like drought, cold, and frost.”
Kynetec’s extensive global panels, which collect farmer-sourced data to provide insights on the use of crop protection and seed products, have been extended over the last 4-5 years to include fertilizer and biostimulants. For harvest year 2023, farmer-level data was sourced from around 123,000 farms around the world, who may or may not be using biostimulants.
Plans to extend the scope of data collection in more crops and countries, such as the USA, will add to the understanding of the biostimulants market.
While we don’t claim to understand the full size of the biostimulant market, we feel confident that, based on farmer-level data, the data that we do have is a good representation of what is happening in the market.
We’re looking forward to extending both market and crop biostimulant data over time.
